Ather Rizta Prices Start at Rs 1.10 Lakh – Range, Specs, Features

Ather Energy has finally introduced its much-awaited Rizta electric scooter in the country. Promoted as a family two-wheeler, the e-scooter comes with a starting price tag of Rs 1.10 lakh for the Rizta S variant. The Z and the top-end Rizta Z 3.7kWh variants cost Rs 1.25 lakh and Rs 1.45 lakh, respectively. One must note that the mentioned prices are introductory, ex-showroom.

It’s the most affordable electric offering from the indigenous two-wheelermaker. Deliveries are slated to begin in July 2024. The new Ather Rizta shares its lightweight aluminum frame with the 450 but is heavier and features different styling.

Talking about its design, the new Ather electric scooter, Rizta, has a more rounded stance and the longest seat in its category, defining its position as a ‘family scooter’. Upfront, it boasts a horizontally placed LED headlamp. Some of its other design elements include a flat seat with a pillion backrest, 12-inch alloy front wheel, and a slim wraparound taillight.

Similar to the 450X, the new Ather Rizta offers a digital instrument cluster. It’s India’s first electric scooter to come with a traction control system. Both Z variants of the e-scooter offer a backrest and come in seven colour options. The S variant is being offered only in three paint schemes. The e-scooter offers underseat storage of 34-litres along with a 22-litres frunk. Its seat height and ground clearance stand at 780mm and 165mm, respectively.

Besides the platform and a few design elements, the new Ather family scooter shares its battery pack with the 450 range. It has a mid-drive motor, though its power figure is lower than its sibling. The Rizta offers two riding modes – Zip and SmartEco, but misses out on the ‘Wrap’ ride mode.

As mentioned above, it’s being offered with two battery options – 2.9kWh and 3.7kWh – promising a claimed range of 123km and 160km/125km, respectively. It’s important to note that the mentioned range figures are IDC (Indian Driving Cycle) certified.

The closest rivals to the Rizta electric scooter are the Bajaj Chetak Premium and TVS iQube, both equipped with battery capacities of 2.88 kWh and 3.04 kWh, respectively. The new Ather Rizta is equipped with a conventional telescopic front and monoshock rear suspension setup. Its braking setup includes front disc and rear drum brakes. It’s claimed to have a water wading capacity of 400mm.
