The new 2022 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class has finally been introduced in the Indian market. The model lineup comes in two variants – locally assembled S580 and the CBU unit S680 – priced at Rs 2.50 crore and Rs 3.20 crore respectively. All aforementioned prices are ex-showroom. Based on the new V223 S-Class, the luxury limousine comes with 180mm longer wheelbase, a more feature-loaded interior and improved styling. The model has been offered with powertrain options – a 4.0L V8 mild hybrid (S 580) and a 6.0L V12 unit (S 680), paired to a 9-speed automatic gearbox.
The 4.0L V8 engine is good for 503bhp and 700Nm and with the mild hybrid tech it delivers an extra 20bhp and 200Nm. It accelerates from 0 to 100kmph in under 5 seconds. The S680 with 6.0L V12 motor returns a massive power of 612bhp and 900Nm of torque. It’s capable of achieving 0 to 100kmph in 4.5 seconds with a top speed of 250kmph. Both variants can be had with the 4WD (four-wheel drive) system.
As mentioned above, the 2022 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class has more features on offer including Level 2 autonomous tech, adaptive air suspension, a 360 degree camera and a 1,750W Burmester 4D sound system. The car offers autonomous safety features such as lane-keep assist and blind spot monitoring.
Comfort goodies such as heated and ventilated seats, powered front and rear seats, individual climate zones, seat massage function, rear seat entertainment screens, power close rear doors with gesture control, a panoramic sunroof, hands-free parking and 13 airbags (standard) are also on offer. The company is offering optional Maybach specific interior trims and leather upholstery and Maybach specific graphics in the central touchscreen.
On the exterior, the 2022 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class features the signature vertical louvered Maybach grille with extra chrome detailing, Maybach-specific alloy wheels and badging and logos on the C-pillars and tailgate. The range-topping Maybach S680 comes with optional dual-tone colour schemes.
