KTM is working on the next generation Duke range, as the new 250 and 125 Duke have been caught testing numerous times. Now, the 2022 KTM Duke 390 has been spotted testing in foreign soil. The next generation 390 Duke features similar design and mechanical updates as the 250 Duke. The motorcycle comes with aggressive design and added features.
The 2022 KTM Duke 390 takes design inspiration from the bigger Dukes including the 890 Duke and the 1290 SuperDuke R. The overall styling is noticeably sharper than the previous model. The motorcycle gets a brand-new swingarm along with a side-mounted monoshock.
Spy images suggest that the motorcycle could use the same simplified trellis frame and composite frame, which was spotted on the 250 Duke test mule. It gets the 1290 Super Duke-like aggressive mirrors. The 2022 KTM Duke 390 spotted bike features the five-cast wheels, which is likely to replace the existing 10-spoke wheels. The motorcycle will feature an underbelly exhaust, which seems to be re-designed for higher ground clearance.
The new naked bike features the signature dual-LED headlamp. The right-front tank cover looks similar to the one found on the 250 Duke; however, the left-front tank cover comes with a dished section on its lower panel. The motorcycle gets new radiator covers, a short rear fender, newly styled sleek LED tail-lamp and new rear view mirrors.
It is expected that the 2022 KTM Duke 390 could receive redesigned engine casing, which should improve the refinement levels as well as performance figures. The current engine offers a maximum power output of 45PS and a peak torque of 37Nm.
