The American SUV manufacturer has introduced the new 2022 Jeep Compass Night Eagle variant in the country. The model is being offered with diesel and petrol engines, which are priced at Rs 21.95 lakh and Rs 22.75 lakh respectively. All aforementioned prices are ex-showroom. The automaker says that the new Compass Night Eagle comes with “a new level of Boldness and Elegance with its all-black styling”. He also revealed that the updated Compass Trailhawk was sold out within two months of its market launch. The company expects the same demand for the new Night Eagle trim.
Based on the updated Compass, the SUV’s new Night Eagle features a sporty gloss black radiator grille, black roof rails and black 18-inch alloy wheels. The black treatment continues inside the cabin as well. The model has piano black interior theme with black cloth/vinyl seats with light tungsten stitching and black vinyl inserts for the door trim and IP.
In terms of features, the 2022 Jeep Compass Night Eagle variant offers a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, dual zone climate control, push button start, dual airbags, ABS (antilock braking system), EBD (electronic brakeforce distribution) and Xenon projector headlamps.
As mentioned above, the updated model comes with both diesel and petrol engine options. The diesel version uses the 173bhp, 2.0L turbo oil burner with 6-speed manual and 9-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox options. The petrol model derive power from the 163bhp, 1.4L turbo gasoline unit that’s available with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. One must note that the AWD system is exclusively offered on the automatic variants, while other models get FWD system.
Jeep India’s Future Plans
The next big launch from Jeep will be the Meridian three-row SUV that’s reported to hit showrooms in May 2022. Unofficial bookings of the model have already been commenced at an initial sum of Rs 50,000. Based on the Compass’ platform, the upcoming Jeep Meridian is expected to be priced competitively as it will be built with 80 percent localisation.
