German luxury carmaker, Audi has finally launched its flagship model, the 2022 Audi A8 L in the Indian market. Priced at Rs 1.29 crore , the new Audi A8L has already reached the dealerships across India. Buyers can book the new model online or at authorised Audi dealerships by paying a token amount of Rs 10 lakh. It is available in two variants – Celebration Edition and Technology – priced at Rs 1.29 crore and Rs 1.57 crore respectively.
The 2022 Audi A8 L directly rivals the BMW 7 Series and the Mercedes-Benz S-Class. The new model comes with cosmetic design and interior changes along with new features. The major design changes have been made at the front end. It features an aggressively styled grille with mesh pattern, new fog lamp assembly with revised chrome strip surroundings and angled air intakes.
The new Digital Matrix LED headlamps are claimed to have around 1.3 million micro-mirrors to split the light into individual pixels. The 2022 Audi A8 L also has a new S Line package that includes S8-inspired blades in the side intakes. It also comes with the optional chrome and black exterior packages. The luxurious sedan gets digital OLED brake lights with proximity sensors as standard.
Inside the cabin, the 2022 Audi A8 L facelift comes with two additional 10.1-inch infotainment displays for the rear passenger’s entertainment. It comes equipped with dual-tone beige and black upholstery, 4-zone climate control, an updated virtual cockpit, an updated MIB 3 software, and driver assistance systems. It gets a fold-out centre console table, a cooler with a bar compartment and a perfume function as optional offerings.
The new Audi A8 L is powered by the same 3.0-litre TFSI petrol engine that produces 335bhp of power and 500Nm of torque. It is coupled to an 8-speed Tiptronic automatic gearbox and Audi’s Quattro AWD (all-wheel-drive) system. The new Audi A8L directly rivals the likes of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and the BMW 7-Series. It is around 31 lakh and 11 lakh cheaper than the S-Class and the 7-Series respectively.
