2021 Kia Seltos And Sonet Launch In May – Official

Kia Motors has confirmed that the updated Seltos and Sonet will be launched in May 2021. The launch is expected to be delayed due to COVID-19 pandemic. The company has also confirmed that the new models will come with new KIA logo. Adding to it, the Kia Motors will now be called Kia India. The company will also enter into a new segment in early 2022.

Most of the details including brochure and features have already been leaked on the Internet. In fact, the upgraded models have already reached the dealerships.

According to the leaked information, the 2021 Kia Seltos will come with new AI (Artificial Intelligence) Voice Commands in the form of open/close sunroof or I want to see the sky for sunroof. Other voice commands include open/close driver window, I need fresh air (for air intake control), set wind direction to face (for wind direction control) and turn on front defroster (for defroster control).

The updated model will also receive two new variants – iMT HTK+ and Turbo GTX (O) MT. The iMT gearbox will be paired to a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine that produces 113bhp and 250Nm of torque. The GTX+ Turbo trim will feature a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 138bhp of power and 242Nm of torque.

The HTK trim of the Seltos will get wireless phone projection, while the HTK+ will receive remote engine start on smart key and a Smartstream 6iMT. The higher variants will get features like ESC, HSA, VSM, brake assist and new ‘Hello Kia’ AI voice commands. The HTX+ variant will come with gentle brown and black leatherette seats with a honeycomb pattern, while the GTX (O) variant will offer beige and black leatherette sports seats with contrasting red stitching. The automatic GTX+ trim will be available with paddle shifters.

The 2021 Kia Sonet is reportedly to come with two new variants – HTX 1.0L turbo-petrol DCT and HTX Diesel 6AT. The iMT version will come with remote engine start on smart key, while the 1.2L version will get keyless entry function. The Smart Key with push-button start will be offered with turbo petrol and 1.5L diesel version.

The 2021 Kia Sonet HTX variant will get features like paddle shifters with AT, ESC, HSA, VSM & Brake Assist. It will get new 16-inch crystal cut alloy wheels. The automatic version will be offered with multiple traction modes – Sand, Mud and Wet, and three driving modes – Normal, Eco and Sports.

The SUV will also get new AI Voice Commands – ‘Hello Kia’ – which will also come with updated Seltos. The 2021 Kia Sonet will come with the existing engine set-up – a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol, a 1.5-litre turbo-diesel and a 1.2-litre NA petrol. The 1.0L engine produces 118bhp and 175Nm of torque, while the 1.2L NA engine produces 83bhp and 115Nm of torque. The diesel engine churns out 99bhp and 240Nm of torque with manual gearbox. The automatic diesel offers 113bhp and 250Nm of torque.
