The first half of 2023 is going to super exciting as several new car launches and unveilings have been planned across segments. There will be two major SUVs that make their India debut including a new Honda SUV and the 5-door Mahindra Thar. Here’re some key details of the upcoming Honda and Mahindra SUVs.
Upcoming New SUVs
New Honda SUV
The Japanese automaker dropped the first teaser of its upcoming mid-size SUV that will challenge the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara and Toyota Hyryder. The company has confirmed that the model will debut by Summer 2023 (i.e. around April – June). Its market launch is likely to happen during this year’s festive season. The new Honda SUV will share its underpinning with the Amaze compact sedan and could be offered with the 1.5L iVTEC petrol and 1.5L Atkinson cycle e:HEV hybrid powertrain options. It might be offered with the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) along with a new digital driver display, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, electronic parking brake, 6 airbags, 360 degree camera, ESC, and many more features. Mahindra Thar 5-door
Mahindra & Mahindra’s next big launch will be the 5-door version of the Thar SUV that’s reported to debut very soon. Rumour has it that the carmaker might showcase the model on 26th January 2023. The Mahindra Thar 5-door will essentially be the long-wheelbase version of the SUV. It will be designed on the Scorpio-N’s platform and have high strength steel body built. Most of its design elements and features will be similar to its 3-door version. Though, it will have more spacious cabin and bigger boot. For power, the 5-door Thar is likely to use the 2.0L turbo petrol engine sourced from the Scorpio-N. It will also be available with a more powerful diesel engine option. More details here…
