New Royal Enfield Scrambler Could Be Called Interceptor Bear 650

It is no secret that Royal Enfield is working on multiple new motorcycles based on its 650cc platform. The company is testing the Shotgun 650, a new faired Continental GT 650 and a new 650cc Scrambler bike. It is expected that the new 650cc Scrambler will be based on the Interceptor 650. Now, RE has filed a trademark application for the ‘Interceptor Bear 650’ nametag.

We expect that the upcoming 650cc Scrambler could be called the new Royal Enfield Interceptor Bear 650. The spy images reveal that the motorcycle appears similar to the Interceptor INT 650. It has some new design parts, which seems shared with the upcoming Himalayan 450. The spotted model has a retro-styled round-shaped headlamp, rear view mirrors, tail-light and turn indicators.

The new Royal Enfield Interceptor Bear 650 Scrambler comes with a teardrop-shaped fuel tank with knee recesses. The spy images reveal that the LED headlight unit in the scrambler is sourced from the Super Meteor 650. The spotted model has a small flyscreen & a headlight grille, which could be offered as an optional accessory. It will be fitted with a single pod instrument console.

The new RE Scrambler will feature a 648cc, air-/oil-cooled, parallel twin engine that pushes out 47bhp of power and 52Nm of torque. It comes fitted with a two-in-one exhaust setup. The 650cc Scrambler will come with an inverted front fork and twin shock absorbers at the rear. It will sport disc brakes at both ends along with dual-channel ABS as standard. It will come with wire-spoked units, which are likely to be wrapped in the basic tube type.
