Mahindra has recently announced the prices of the XUV400 electric SUV. Ranging between Rs 15.99 lakh to Rs 18.99 lakh (ex-showroom), the Mahindra EV comes in two variants and two battery pack options, claiming a range of up to 456 km on a single charge. This places the XUV400 directly against the likes of MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona Electric.

Mahindra XUV400 is 20mm longer than Hyundai Kona Electric, but is 123mm shorter than that of the MG ZS EV. However, it is the widest and has the longest wheelbase. It also offers the highest boot space among all.

- As mentioned above, Mahindra offers the XUV400 with two battery pack options – 34.5kWh and 39.5kWh. The range of the latter is on par with other EVs in the competition. It is also the fastest EV of all.
- All electric SUVs take about the same amount of time to charge. The MG ZS EV, however, takes the longest to charge from a 7.2 kW AC charger due to its larger battery pack.

Verdict
All of the electric vehicles are well equipped and appear to be quite promising. But the XUV400 is not as feature-rich as other electric offerings mentioned here. However, the Mahindra SUV puts a hard fight against other EVs. And going by its prices, it seems a sensible option, at least on paper.
