New Retro-Style TVS Bike Spotted – Is It TVS Retron?

TVS Motor Company trademarked multiple nameplates for its upcoming products including Retron, Fiero and Zeppelin R. As of now, there is no official information which nameplate will be used for which upcoming model. If reports are to be believed, the TVS Retron could be a new retro-classic bike and TVS Zeppelin R could the name of upcoming cruiser motorcycle. Recently, a test mule of the new TVS bike was caught on camera near the company’s Hosur based manufacturing plant. It’s likely to be based on the Apache RTR 160 featuring sporty design elements.

One can notice that the test mule has a single-piece saddle and a single-piece grab rail for the pillion. It runs on alloy wheels with cross section, wider tyres. At the rear section, it carries an upswept exhaust canister, extended rear fender emerging from the tail section and LED taillight with auxiliary unit. Design elements such as a circular headlamp and rear view mirrors and teardrop-shaped fuel tank give it retro-look. The new TVS bike (TVS Retron) has a circular instrument console with part digital and analogue readouts.

The motor could be offered with either 2-valve or 4-valve setup offering power close to 15.3bhp with 13.9Nm and 17.39bhp with 14.73Nm respectively.
