2022 Kia Carnival Announced For U.S. With New Logo; Replaces Sedona

Kia Motors has revealed the all-new 2022 Kia Carnival MPV for the United States of America. The new model will replace the outgoing Sedona MPV. It is the first vehicle to be sold in the U.S. with Kia’s new logo. The new Carnival will be launched in the second quarter of 2021.

The 2022 Kia Carnival will be offered as 7- or 8-seat options. It is powered by a 3.5-litre V6 engine that churns out a maximum power output of 290bhp and a peak torque 355Nm. For transmitting power, it gets an 8-speed automatic gearbox. This powertrain offers up to 3,500 pounts of towing capacity. The MPV will be offered in 4 trim levels – LX, EX, SX and SX Prestige.

2022 Kia Carnival Specs

The 2022 Kia Carnival features the brand’s new boxy SUV style, featuring tiger nose grille that integrates the high-tech LED headlamps, brawny wheel arches, a bold cutline runs across the width, large two-tone mirrors, sleek combination taillamps and rear skid plate garnish. The MPV is offered with 17-and 19-inch wheels.

The MPV comes with Slide-Flex seating for 8 passenger versions, which allow multiple configurations including a sliding second row center seat. When in the forward-most position, the second-row seat allows the front passenger easy access the baby or child riding in it. This seat also converts into a functional table. The vehicle also gets heated and ventilated second-row VIP Lounge seating with power controls, wing-out headrests and leg extensions in up-level 7-passenger configuration. It also gets removable second-row seats and fold-in-floor third-row seats for large cargo room.

In terms of features, the 2022 Kia Carnival gets hands-free opening power sliding doors with Smart key, hands-free Smart Power Liftgate with auto-close, smart key with one-button open/close functionality for rear sliding doors and liftgate, rear occupant alert, safe exist assist, rear passenger view camera, passenger talk cabin intercom system, passenger voice recognition and dual rear screen entertainment monitors.

The MPV gets 8-inch touchscreen display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard. It comes equipped with features such as wireless smartphone charging, 3-inch navigation display, full digital instrument console, multi-bluetooth connectivity, 9 USB ports & two 110-volt power inverters, Bose premium sound system with 12 speakers, UVO Link telematics and others.

2022 Kia Carnival Rear Entertainment

The 2022 Kia Carnival is based on the 3rd generation “N3” platform, which also underpins the Sorento and the K5. Safety features include forward collision avoidance assist, blind spot avoidance assist, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance assist, parking distance warning-reverse, lane keep assist system, high beam assist and driver attention warning.
