New-gen Kia Carnival 2021 Gets SUV-inspired design

Kia Motors has recently revealed the first images of the new-gen Kia Carnival 2021 MPV. Dubbed as ‘Grand Utility Vehicle’, the fourth generation Carnival features all-new design inspired by the new range of Kia utility vehicles. The new model comes with modern-day advanced features and SUV-inspired design elements with stronger and stylish profile.

The new-gen Kia Carnival 2021 comes with shorter front overhang. The base of the A-pillar moved backwards, which translates into a longer hood. The wheelbase of the UV has also been increased, which should help Kia engineers to create more space inside the cabin. The side profile looks way more attractive and sportier than the outgoing model.

There is a strong character line that runs across the length of the new Carnival, linking the front and rear lamps. The fourth-generation MPV gets bolder wheel arches and sharp lines along the body, which gives it a sportier SUV-like styling. According to the Korean brand, the 2021 Kia Carnival features a unique ‘island roof’ design. It has blacked-out A- and B-pillars and the body-coloured roof. The MPV also gets stylish C-pillar signature design, which is inspired by the new Sorento.

The Kia Carnival 2021 gets the signature ‘Tiger-Nose’ grille at the front, which is similar to that of the new Sorento. Kia calls the new design theme – ‘Symphonic Architecture’. The MPV comes with newly styled headlamps and LED DRLs, which form a unique light signature. The high-beam lamps are placed on the corner of the grille, while the low-beam lamps are placed separately at the outer edges of the front. The DRLs wrap around the Carnival’s turn signal lamps. The sculted bumper has wider air intake, fog lamp enclosure and metallic trim.

At the back, the new-gen Kia Carnival gets all-new design. The MPV gets sleeker lamps, which are connected by a light bar. There is a chrome line above the light bar. The SUV-inspired design is also visible on the lower bumper, which has metallic lower skid plate.

The new-gen Kia Carnival is designed and developed on the new generation N3 platform, which also underpins the new Sorento SUV. Kia is yet to release the dimensions and engine specs; however, media reports claim that the new Carnival will be 40mm longer and 10mm wider than the outgoing model. The wheelbase is also likely to be increased by 30mm to 3,090mm. The Kia Carnival 2021 is also rumoured to receive a new 4-seater variant, which will target the corporate world. The new model is likely to receive the upgraded version of the existing 200bhp, 2.2-litre turbocharged diesel engine. The petrol version could receive a new 277bhp, 2.5L turbocharged petrol engine.
