Japanese automaker, Toyota has unveiled the TRD sportier variant of the Toyota Yaris ATIV at the 2018 Bangkok Motor Show. This is basically the sportier version of the Toyota Yaris sedan, which will soon go on sale in the Indian market.
The new Toyota Yaris TRD variant comes equipped with a range of sporty body parts for a more striking appeal. At the front, the vehicle gets thicker fog lamp surrounds, underbody spoilers with red accents and bigger blacked-out air-dams. Other design changes include side skirts, black bumper at the rear and blackened trunk lid-spoiler. The vehicle continuous to feature the existing set of alloys. This model is based on the regular Yaris ATIV S variant. It is powered by a 3NR-FE 1.2-litre Dual VVT-i engine, which is paired to a CVT unit. As a reminder, Toyota will soon launch the Yaris sedan in the Indian market. The India-spec model will be powered by a 1.5-litre Dual VVT-i engine that produces around 105bhp of power. Both manual and automatic versions of the car will be on offer. It will directly rival the Maruti Ciaz, Honda City and Hyundai Verna. Toyota could also launch the Yaris TRD in India, but on later stage.
