Japanese automaker, Toyota is gearing up for the launch of much-awaited Yaris mid-sized sedan in the Indian car market. Toyota dealers have already started taking pre-orders for the sedan at a token amount of Rs 51,000. If media reports are to be believed, the Toyota Yaris will go on sale in the country on May 18, 2018. This sedan will only come with petrol engine, paired to a manual or a CVT automatic gearbox. If latest media report is to be believed,, the new Toyota Yaris will come in a total of three variants – G, V and VX. However, the entry-level G trim is not confirmed.
Features like push button start/stop, cruise control, dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rear air-conditioning vents, touchscreen HU with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, cooled glovebox, height adjustable driver seat, reverse camera & rear parking sensors. 4.2-inch MID and alloy wheels are offered as standard across the trims. Additionally, the VX trim has leather seats, daytime running lights, automatic headlights and automatic wipers. The report further claims that the sedan will arrive at dealerships by April last week. It is expected to be offered in seven exterior paint jobs – Pearl White, Silver, Grey, Black, Super White, Blue and Brown/Purple. In the Indian market, the Toyota Yaris will be equipped with a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine. This engine is capable of producing a maximum power output of 105bhp at 6,000rpm and a peak torque of 140Nm at 4,200rpm. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 7-speed CVT unit.
