Toyota Yaris Officially Launched; Deliveries Begin

Toyota has officially introduced the new Yaris mid-sized sedan in the Indian market. While the prices of the car were announced last month, Toyota has officially started delivering the sedan to customers from today onward. The Toyota Yaris sedan is available in petrol avatar only, and diesel model is not likely to come anytime soon. It is powered by a 1.5-litre, naturally-aspirated petrol engine that churns out a maximum power output of 107bhp and a peak torque of 140Nm. For transmission duties, the sedan gets a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed CVT automatic. The CVT model also gets paddle shifters and cruise.

The Yaris sedan is available in four trim levels – J, G, V and VX – in both manual and CVT gearbox options. Prices of the manual variants range from Rs 8.75 lakh to Rs 12.85 lakh, while the CVT model is priced between Rs 9.95 lakh and Rs 14.07 lakh. The saloon is also available with a range of segment-first features like gesture sensing touchscreen infotainment system, electrically adjustable driver’s seat, ambient lighting, seven airbags, tyre pressure monitoring and a front parking sensors. In terms of proportions, the sedan is 4,425mm in length, 1,730mm in width and 1,475mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,550mm. The sedan comes with a ground clearance of 160mm. Features include projector headlamps with LED DRLs, raidator grille, chrome finished ORVMs, 16-inch alloy wheels and LED tail-lights.
