Yamaha Motors India has rolled out the ABS-equipped variant of its popular YZF-R15 motorcycle at Rs 1.39 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The bike also gets a new Dark Night colour scheme that has been priced Rs 2,000 premium than the standard colour model. With the ABS introduction, the Yamaha R15 becomes India’s first 150cc motorcycle to get this advanced braking system. Compared to the non-ABS version, the ABS-equipped variant is Rs 12,000 more expensive.
The 2019 Yamaha R15 received dual-channel ABS (anti-lock braking system) that prevents it from skidding even under emergency braking situations. Powering the 2019 Yamaha R15 ABS is the same 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine matched to a 6-speed gearbox. This motor makes a top power of 18.bhp at 10,000rpm and 14.7Nm of torque at 8,500rpm. The bike also gets assist and slipper clutch enhancing its riding experience.
