Yamaha is currently selling two entry-level performance oriented motorcycles – the MT-15 and the R15 V3.0 in the country. These two bikes are doing excellent business for the Japanese brand. Not just in India, the 155cc bikes are doing wonders for the company in global markets as well. Now, the company has launched the XSR155 in Thailand. This is basically the entry level Retro-styled motorcycle, which uses the same engine and mechanicals as its siblings.

The Yamaha XSR155 styling is inspired by the bigger XSR motorcycles including the XSR700 and the XSR900. It retains the neo-retro design language along with modern features and technologies. It is sleeker and compact in nature, featuring a slim seat, narrow fuel tank and wider handlebars.

Upfront is a dome-shaped headlamp with LED lights that offers classing appeal. The turn indicators are conventional unit. The neo-retro design also visible on the instrument console styling, which is also full digital unit. The instrument console has circular dials that displays speedometer, odometer, two trip meters, fuel gauge and gear position indicator.

It features a teardrop styled fuel tank, which gets dual-tone paint schemes and a key fob mounted on tank. The fuel tank has 10-litres of capacity. It gets flat tan coloured seat with patterned design. The motorcycle has a seat height of 810mm, which is similar to that of the MT-15.

The Yamaha XSR 155 comes with all-LED tail-light, which is mounted on top of the rear fender. The motorcycle rides on 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped in dual-purpose tyres. The Yamaha XSR 155 retro bike rides on a 1,330mm wheelbase and has a ground clearance of 170mm. It has a kerb weight of 134kg. Based on the Delta box frame, the new cafe racer is 805mm in width, 2000mm in length and 1,080mm in height.

Yamaha XSR155 is powered by the same 155cc, liquid-cooled fuel injected motor with VVA (Variable Valve Actuation) that powers the MT-15 and the R15 V3.0. Paired to a 6-speed gearbox, this engine produces 19.2bhp of power and 14.7Nm of torque. It gets dual-channel ABS and slip and assist clutch system as standard. Suspension mechanism comprises of telescopic front forks and rear monoshock.
