The Yamaha XSR 155 will first go on sale in the Indonesian market around November 2019

Yamaha is known for making some of the most exciting motorcycles for the young enthusiasts across the globe. The company has exciting range for entry-level buyers including R15, MT15 and R25. Now, the Japanese automaker is planning to add a small capacity retro-styled motorcycle to its entry-level motorcycle range. Media reports claim that the upcoming bike could be called the Yamaha XSR 155. This will be the smallest retro-styled Yamaha, which will join the XSR line-up. The XSR line-up comprise of XSR 700 and the bigger XSR 900.

The Yamaha XSR 155 will first go on sale in the Indonesian market, where it will challenge the Honda CBR 150R. It will be powered by the same 155cc, liquid-cooled engine that powers the R15 V3.0 and the MT-15. Paired to a 6-speed gearbox, this engine produces 19.3PS of power and 14.7Nm of torque. The bike will also receive a slipper clutch as standard. Also See – Yamaha MT-15 Price, Specs and other details

The Yamaha XSR 155 will receive the premium upside-down front forks and the monoshock unit at the rear. To curb pricing, the company could opt for the delta box frame instead of a Trellis frame. Some of the features are likely to be sourced from the R15 V3.0 and MT-15.

The Japanese automaker could plan to launch the XSR 155 motorcycle in our market as well. Similar to the India-spec R15 and MT-15, the XSR 155 for India could receive the conventional telescopic front suspension unit. The motorcycle is expected to look like a smaller XSR 700 with classic retro-styling. It could sport retro-styled round headlamps, round-shaped fully-digital instrument console, exposed engine and sculpted fuel tank.
