The new Yamaha R15 V3 MotoGP edition will be positioned slightly premium than the regular model.

India Yamaha Motor has released a teaser video of the upcoming Yamaha R15 V3 MotoGP edition. While the video doesn’t reveal the design details of the bike, it says “The call of the Blue” coming soon. Inspired by Yamaha’s existing M1 MotoGP motorcycle, the Yamaha R15 V3 MotoGP is slated to go on sale this month (August, 2018).

In terms of price, the new R15 MotoGP edition will be positioned slightly premium than the regular model. Recently, the Japanese bikemaker increased the price of the Yamaha R15 by Rs 2,000. While the stock model is now available at Rs 1.27 lakh, the new MotoGP edition is estimated to be priced around Rs 1.30 lakh.

Design of the Yamaha R15 V3 MotoGP edition is exactly similar to the standard model. Though, it gets new body graphics and colour scheme (Blue & Black). Engine setup will remain intact. Similar to the regular model, the Yamaha R15 V3 MotoGP edition will source its power from the updated 155 cc single-cylinder engine benefited with VVA (Variable Valve Actuation) technology. Its power and torque outputs stand at 19.3bhp and 15Nm respectively. Transmitting power to the wheels is a 6-speed manual gearbox with a slipper assist clutch.

While the global R15 that comes with ABS (antilock braking system) and USD (upside down) forks suspension unit, the India-spec model will miss out on the ABS and get telescopic forks unit. Most of the features and components will also be carried over from the regular Yamaha R15 V3.
