Yamaha NMax 155 India Launch Under Consideration

Yamaha Motor India revealed its plan to expand its premium bike and scooter portfolio and double its market share in the next 3 years. The upcoming Yamaha scooters will range between 125cc – 150cc, while motorcycles will be between 150cc-250cc. Recently, Eishin Chihana, Chairman of Yamaha Motor India Group, has revealed that the company is considering the Yamaha NMax 155 sports scooter for the Indian market.

The company is already selling the Yamaha Aerox scooter in the same segment that has been doing well in terms of sales. Its demand is significantly high then its supply despite the fact it’s available only at Yamaha’s premium Blue Square dealerships. Now, the two-wheeler is planning to sell the Aerox across its all dealerships in the country. In order to cater its demand, the company will increase its localisation levels and streamline the production process.

Yamaha NMax 155 Specs

Compared to the Aerox, the Yamaha NMax 155 has larger fuel tank and underseat storage capacity. Though, its ground clearance is relatively less than the Aerox. The NMax has 13-inch wheels fitted with disc brakes. The scooter offers features such as a fully digital instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity, idle start/stop system, a 12V charging socket, keyeless start with engine immobilizer, dual-channel ABS (anti-lock braking system) and traction control.

Yamaha’s 155cc sports scooter has relatively wide and bulky front end featuring LED headlamp and a visor. Similar to the global-spec version, the NMax 155 could be offered in Matte White, Matte Blue, Matte Black, Matte Green and Metallic Red colour options. The Matte Green model is also available with golden alloys and the Matte Red comes with Black alloys.

For power, the NMax 155 scooter uses the 155cc, liquid-cooled engine boosted with VVA (variable valve actuation) tech. The motor, paired with a CVT gearbox, makes a top power of 15.36PS and 13.9Nm of torque.
