The motorcycle will be introduced at Buddh International Circuit, Noida, on March 15. Ahead of the official launch, the motorcycle has been spotted in India. The new images reveal the colour schemes and possible changes in the India-spec model.

The spotted Yamaha MT-15 was wrapped in a matte Blue and Black colour scheme, which is in-line with the international-spec model. While the international-spec model is available with yellow wheels, the spotted model in India was equipped with fully black wheels with yellow rim tape. The motorcycle is available in 3 colour options – grey, blue and all-black.

The Yamaha MT-15 is basically the naked streetfighter version of the R15 V3.0 fully-faired motorcycle. It will be powered by the same 155cc, single-cylinder engine that also powers the faired sibling. This engine is capable of producing 19.3bhp of power at 10,000rpm and 14.7Nm of torque at 8,500rpm. Power is transmitted to the rear wheel via a six-speed gearbox. Also See – 2019 Yamaha MT-09 Launched

Instead of the USD front forks and aluminium swingarm in the Thailand-spec bike, the India-spec MT-15 motorcycle gets a conventional telescopic front fork and a box-type swingarm. This will help the automaker to curb pricing. The motorcycle will come with dual disc brakes along with dual-channel ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System).
