Yamaha Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid Launched; Cheaper Than Older Model

Yamaha India has officially launched the Fascino Hybrid in the Indian market. The scooter was unveiled last month at the launch of the FZ-X 150cc retro-styled naked motorcycle. The new Yamaha Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid is available in two variants – Drum brake and Disc brake – priced at Rs 70,000 and Rs 76,530 respectively.

The older Fascino Drum variant was priced at Rs 72,030, which is 2,000 more than the new model. However, the price of the Disc variant is increased by Rs 1,000, as the older disc variant was tagged at Rs 75,530.

Deliveries for the new Yamaha Fascino 125 Fi hybrid are most likely to commence by the end of this month or early August 2021. The Fascino Hybrid disc variant is offered in 9 colour options – Dark Matte Blue, Vivid Red Special, Yellow Cocktail, Suave Copper, Matt Black Special, Cyan Blue, Cool Blue Metallic, Vivid Red and Metallic Black. The Drum variant misses out on Matt Black and the Vivid Red Special paint scheme.

The Yamaha Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid is powered by a BSVI-compliant 125cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder, fuel-injected engine. It is benefitted with a Smart Motor Generator (SMG), which is commonly known as mild-hybrid system. This powertrain churns out 8.2PS of maximum power at 6,500rpm and 10.3Nm of torque at 5000rpm. The scooter offers 0.6Nm higher torque than the previous Fascino.

2021 Yamaha Fascino Hybrid

Yamaha claims that the drive force at the rear wheel at low speeds has been improved by 30%, while the fuel efficiency has been increased by 16%. The scooter weighs 99kgs, which makes it 4kgs lighter than Yamaha’s earlier scooters. It measures 1,920mm, 685mm and 1,150mm in length, width and height respectively. The scooter offers a seat height of 780mm, while the wheelbase stands at 1,280mm. The scooter offers a minimum ground clearance of 145mm. It has a fuel tank of 5.2-litre capacity, and has underseat storage capacity of 21L.

The Disc variant of the Yamaha Fascino Hybrid comes with LED headlamp and LD tail-light, while the drum variant gets Halogen units. The disc variant also gets LED DRLs (Daytime Running Lamps). The Fascino Disc also gets digital instrument console and Yamaha’s Connect X – Bluetooth connectivity feature. The Drum variant gets analogue meter. Side stand engine cut-off switch is offered as standard.
