2018 Yamaha R3
Next in our list of upcoming Yamaha Bikes at Auto Expo 2018 is the new YZF-R3 quarter-litre motorcycle. This motorcycle looks largely identical to the current model, except for the few changes. It now has new body graphics and stickers, which draw inspiration from the new Yamaha R6. The new models come with subtle changes, which make it look more appealing. The motorcycle will get three new colour options – Raven, Team Yamaha Blue and Vivid White. Like the previous model, the 2018 Yamaha R3 will be produced at Yamaha’s manufacturing facility in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Powering the motorcycle is the same 321cc in-line twin-cylinder engine that produces 41.4bhp of power and 29.6Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the rear wheel via a 6-speed gearbox. This model also gets ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System), which was missing in the previous model. Suspension mechanism of the bike comprises of 41mm telescopic forks upfront and a monoshock at the rear. Stopping power will come from 298mm front disc and 220mm rear disc brake. In India, the new motorcycle will challenge the likes of the Kawasaki Ninja 300, KTM RC 390 and the Benelli 302R.
The R3 fully-faired motorcycle is known for its touring skills and impressive performance. The bike was discontinued in India in early 2017 and the model was not launched with BSIV engine. Now, the company will launch the updated model with BSIV engine at the Auto Expo 2018.
