India Yamaha Motor is doing final preparations for 2018 Auto Expo that will kick start on 7th February, 2018. The Japanese bikemaker will showcase a range of new two-wheelers at the biennial event. While the new-generation R15 V3.0 and updated YZF-R3 (BS4 model) will make their debut, there could also be two new scooters (Nozza Grande 125cc and Aerox 155cc). In fact, the first spy pictures of the Yamaha Aerox 155 scooter have already surfaced online. Yamaha Aerox 155 India Launch
Though there is no official word on the launch of the Aerox 155 scooter, a latest report suggests that it might hit showrooms on February 25, 2018. Prior to the rumoured launch, the bikemaker could put up the scooter for public display at 2018 Auto Expo. The 14th edition of the Expo is slated to begin on February 7, 2018 in Greater Noida.

In the Indian market, the new Yamaha 155cc scooter will be stacked up against the upcoming Suzuki Burgman and TVS’s new 150cc scooters. It will also take on the Aprilia SR150. With an aim to take a lead on its rivals, Yamaha might come up with competitive pricing. The Yamaha Aerox 155 price in India is estimated to fall between Rs 65,000 – Rs 70,000 (ex-showroom).

With sporty unisex styling and racing inspired graphics, the new Yamaha Aerox scooter will appeal masses. Its design language seems inspired by the MT series motorcycles. The sharp bits and dual LED headlamps give it an aggressive look. This 155cc scooter rides on wide 110/80-14 C53P front and 140/70-14 C62P tubeless tyres. The fuel tank lid is situated on the central tunnel. There is an electric socket for device charging purposes. The taillight and brake lights have LED elements. Power for the new Yamaha scooter comes from a 155cc, single-cylinder 4-stroke, liquid-cooled SOHC engine boosted with Blue Core Technology and fuel injection system. The power and torque outputs of this motor stand at 14.8bhp (15.09PS) at 8,000rpm and 14.4Nm at 6,000rpm respectively. It features VVA (Valve Variable Actuation) that ensures optimum power deliver at low, mid and high revs. Feeding power to the wheels is a V-belt automatic gearbox. Yamaha’s new 155cc scooter measures 1,990mm in length, 700mm in width and 1,125mm in height. Sitting on a 1,350mm wheelbase, it offers a seat height of 790mm. The kerb weight of the scooter stands at 116kg. The ground clearance of 142mm will make the Aerox 155 compatible for Indian roads. Yamaha offers start/stop system with the 155cc liquid-cooled engine on the scooter. It turns off the engine when the vehicle is stationary, and starts it again when the clutch is pulled or the brake is released. This reduces fuel consumption and carbon emissions of the vehicle.
