First launched in 2011, Mahindra XUV500 has been one of the most popular SUVs in the market, thanks to its rugged looks and spacious cabin. Based on the monocoque chassis, the XUV500 also has good off-roading abilities. After ruling the segment for good 6-7 years, the sales of the XUV500 have witnessed a constant decline. The reason behind the declining sales is the growing competition, entering of Jeep Compass and Tata Hexa.

The updated model will receive a more powerful version of the existing 2.2-litre mHawk turbo diesel engine. This engine is capable of producing 170PS of power and 350Nm of torque. It will also get the 2.2-litre petrol engine producing 142PS and 320Nm of torque. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The SUV will also come with all-wheel-drive layout. Also See – Mahindra XUV Aero Coupe – Details Inside
