The new women-centric Royal Enfield bikes (codenamed J1C) will be lighter than the Bullet and offer lower and more comfortable seating positions. These motorcycles will be launched under the Explorer brand in the first quarter of 2020.
With the new lighter and affordable bikes, the Chennai-based bikemaker aims to serve wider audience especially in states like Goa, Maharashtra, Chandigarh, Karnataka and Kerala.
After launching the Royal Enfield J1C, the company will bring in the new-generation Royal Enfield Thunderbird that’s reported to be named Meteor. The bikemaker will also launch the BS6-compliant version of the Royal Enfield Classic and Bullet sometime next year. In order to make its products BS6-compliant, the company has upgraded the existing UCE (Unit Construction Engine) of the vehicles.
The BS6 Royal Enfield Himalayan will also hit showrooms next year. The vehicle will receive some major changes including a larger windscreen, hazard warning light, a twin-pod instrument cluster and a switchable ABS.
