VW Tiguan AllSpace (Toyota Fortuner Rival) Launch on March 6, 2020
German automaker, Volkswagen had unveiled the 4 new SUVs – the Tiguan AllSpace, T-ROC, Taigun compact SUV and the I.D. Crozz electric SUV – at the 2020 Auto Expo. The company will launch the VW Tiguan AllSpace and the T-ROC SUV in the next couple of months. In fact, Volkswagen has officially announced that the Tiguan AllSpace will go on sale in the country on March 6, 2020.
The Volkswagen Tiguan 7-seater SUV will replace the 5-seat Tiguan in the company’s India line-up. The SUV will be powered by a new 190bhp, 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine. This engine will replace the current Tiguan’s 143bhp, 2.0-litre dieesel engine. Power will be transmitted to all-4 wheels via VW’s 4Motion system and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Volkswagen will introduce the Tiguan AllSpace in a single, fully-loaded variant. The VW Tiguan AllSpace will come equipped with features like full LED headlamps with daytime running lights, a panoramic sunroof, active info display, Vienna leather seats, reverse parking camera, 3-zone climatronic auto AC, keyless entry and a touchscreen infotainment system.
For passengers’ safety and security, the VW Tiguan AllSpace gets seven airbags, ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System), ESP (Electronic Stability Programme), a tyre pressure monitoring system, and a rear parking camera. The new 7-seater Tiguan rides on 110mm longer wheelbase compared to the 5-seater model. The length of the SUV has been raised by 215mm to create third-row of seats.
The Volkswagen Tiguan AllSpace 7-seater SUV is expected to be priced around Rs 35 lakh. The 5-seater model is available in the price tag of Rs 28.15 lakh – Rs 31.54 lakh (ex-showroom). Once it launched, the new model will rival the Skoda Kodiaq, Honda CR-V and the Toyota Fortuner.
