To be positioned below VW T-ROC, the upcoming Volkswagen T-Cross will rival the Hyundai Creta and Renault Captur.

German premium carmaker, Volkswagen is gearing up for the launch of the T-Cross compact SUV in the international markets. The vehicle is scheduled to be launched by the end of this year in the European markets. To be positioned below T-ROC, the Volkswagen T-Cross will rival the Hyundai Creta and Renault Captur. Ahead of the launch, the production version of the SUV has been spotted testing. Spy images reveal that the styling of the compact SUV is heavily inspired from the larger T-ROC.

Similar to the T-Cross Breeze convertible concept, the production model comes with a wide grille that merges into angular headlights. The lower fascia of the SUV gets square intakes that resemble the T-ROC. The profile of the SUV is boxy in shape, featuring chiseled body with a thick C-pillar at the rear. While the T-ROC comes with a crossover profile, the T-Cross has a more traditional SUV like profile. The vehicle will come with stylish two-tone body featuring a contrasting roof. The powertrain range will also be expected to be shared from the Polo. The normal T-Cross model will be offered with turbocharged 3-cylinder engines and front-wheel drive, while the top-end model will get all-wheel-drive as optional.
