Priced at Rs 96.65 lakh, the Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription sits below the XC90 T8 Hybrid Excellence trim.

Volvo, the Sweden based luxury carmaker, has added a new variant to its flagship SUV lineup – the XC90. Positioned below the XC90 T8 Hybrid Excellence, the Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription trim has been made available at Rs 96.65 lakh (ex-showroom). Imported as a CBU (Completely Built Units), the new model will be put up against the BMW X6 35i M Sport, Mercedes-Benz GLS 400 4Matic and Mercedes-AMG GLE 43 4Matic.

While the range-topping XC90 T8 Excellence has four-seats layout, the Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription comes with seven-seats configuration. Though, the latter one misses out on some comfort goodies. Under the hood, the Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription features a turbocharged and supercharged, 2.0-litre petrol engine coupled to an 87bhp electric motor. This four-cylinder hybrid motor delivers a combined power of 407bhp and 400Nm of torque. While the gasoline unit transmits power to the front wheels, the electric motor delivers power to the rear wheels. Volvo claims that the XC90 T8 Inscription hybrid trim can do 0-100kmph in 5.8 seconds and offers an electric range of 40km.
