Volkswagen Vento Preferred Edition

With the Volkswagen Vento Preferred Edition special edition, the German carmaker aims to target corporate executives who seek more from the car.

Volkswagen India seems quite focused on updating and expanding its lineup. In the last three months, the German carmaker has rolled out three products – diesel iteration of the Ameo compact sedan, new Vento with updated diesel engine and the Polo AllStar Edition. Now, the company has come up with the Volkswagen Vento Preferred Edition.

For people not in the know, the VW Vento Preferred Edition was first launched in 2014. This time around, this limited edition is based on the facelifted version of the sedan, and has been made available only on the Comfortline trim. With this special edition, the German carmaker aims to target corporate executives who seek more from the car. Volkswagen hasn’t reveal prices of the Vento Preferred edition, though it said it “is attractively priced”. Interested buyers can get the exact price figures only at VW’s dealerships.

The subtle upgrades made to the Volkswagen Vento Preferred edition are for improving the overall appearance and feel of the car. On the outside, the car features roof foil, alloy wheels and side moulding. Further changes to the Preferred edition include leather seat covers and a portable navigation system with a wireless reversing camera. The point to note here is one can get these accessories individually as well.

Similar to the regular model, the VW Vento Preferred is available with three engine options – a 1.5-litre TDI diesel, a 1.2-litre TSI petrol and a 1.6-litre TSI petrol. The diesel mill is capable of churning out a maximum power of 108bhp and 250Nm. If one wants to go for a petrol version, there are two choices – 1.6L and 1.2L units – producing power worth 103bhp against 153Nm and 175Nm of torque respectively. For performing transmission duties, there is a 5-speed manual and a 7-speed DSG gearbox.
