Volkswagen Taigun Price Announcement on 23rd September

Volkswagen India has confirmed that it will announce prices of its all-new Taigun mid-size SUV on 23rd September 2021. Its production is already underway and bookings have been commenced across the country. The Volkswagen Taigun will face challenge cars like Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and the newly-launched Skoda Kushaq. Besides sharing its platform with the Kushaq, the Volkswagen Taigun looks different with the brand’s signature design elements. Upfront, the SUV carries two slat chrome grille and bumper with chrome inserts on the lower part. The taillamp cluster which is running across the width of the tailgate and lots of chrome garnishing on the rear bumper further distinguish it from the Skoda Kushaq.

Interior layout and features of the upcoming Taigun are slightly different than the Kushaq. The former has minimalistic interior theme and has a dashboard integrated infotainment system. What further distinguish it from its cousin are the differently designed AC vents and dashboard trim. Unlike the Kushaq, the VW Taigun offers a digital instrument cluster.

The SUV gets electronic stability control (ESC) as standard safety fitment along with features such as a 10.-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, My Volkswagen connect app, automatic climate control, USB Type-C ports, 6 airbags, tyre pressure deflation warning, Isofix child seat mounts and more.

Engine setup of the new Volkswagen Taigun will be exactly similar to the Skoda Kushaq. There will be 1.0L, 3-cylinder turbo and 1.5L, 4-cylinder turbo petrol motors generating power worth 115bhp and 150bhp respectively. A 6-speed manual gearbox will be standard across the model lineup. The 1.0L petrol variants will be exclusively offered with a 6-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox and the 1.5L TSI petrol models will get an optional 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
