Volkswagen Polo GT TSI

Volkswagen India has halted the production of the highly rated Polo GT range in both TSI and TDI versions. The GT range of the Polo is hot favorite among enthusiasts looking for high performance. In fact, it is the only hot hatch in the country priced under Rs. 10 lakh. The Local dealers in Mumbai said that they did not have any stock for the Polo GT range as Volkswagen has seized production. Volkswagen India is all set to launch the Polo facelift in July, 2014, and it is expected that the company will also introduce the GT range of the new model with new updates. If media reports are to be believed, VW will tune the 1.2L turbocharged petrol engine to offer multiple power outputs to compete well against the likes of Ford EcoBoost and the Tata Revotron engines.

The current VW Polo GT TSI is powered by a 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine that produces 104PS and a peak torque of 170Nm. Power is transmitted to front wheels via a seven-speed dual clutch DSG gearbox. On the other hand, the Polo GT TDI gets a 1.6-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged diesel engine producing 103PS of power and 250Nm of peak torque. This engine is paired to a five-speed manual transmission gearbox.
