2019 ICC World Cup is all set to commence tomorrow and in order to commemorate the occasion Volkswagen has launched the Cup Editions of popular Polo hatchback, Ameo and Vento sedans. Called the Volkswagen Polo, Ameo and Vento Cup Editions, the special editions have been priced at Rs 6.49 lakh, Rs 6.19 lakh and Rs 9.24 lakh respectively. All prices are ex-showroom. The Volkswagen Polo, Ameo and Vento Cup Editions feature the Cup-themed stickers running along the sides. All three special editions have Cup badging on the front fender. While the VW Polo Cup Edition comes with 15-inch ‘Razor’ alloy wheels, the Ameo and Vento Cup Editions get 15-inch ‘Tosa’ and ‘Linas’ alloys respectively.

Inside, Volkswagen’s World Cup Editions get mock leather upholstery with contrast stitching, blue-white piping and Cup logo. Initially, the Volkswagen Polo and Ameo Cup Editions are made available with the 1.0L, 3-cylinder petrol engine that’s good for 76bhp and 95Nm of torque. The Volkswagen Vento Cup Edition, on the other hand, comes with the 1.6L, 4-cylinder petrol engine generating power worth 105bhp and 153Nm of torque. All special editions get a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard.
Talking about Volkswagen’s future plan, the German carmaker is planning to launch new models based on the MQB AO platform including the Volkswagen T-Cross. The company will also bring in two new SUVs in the Indian market – Volkswagen Tiguan AllSpace 7-seater and Volkswagen T-ROC.
VW is also working on a sub-4 meter SUV based on the MQB AO platform that might be christened ‘Volkswagen T-Sport’. The Polo hatchback and Vento sedan facelifts will also make their way to the market.
