At the 2020 Auto Expo, Volkswagen has unveiled 4 new SUVs including the Taigun mid-sized SUV concept, T-ROC 5-seater premium SUV, Tiguan AllSpace and the I.D. Crozz Electric SUV concept. In this article we talk about the all-electric Volkswagen I.D. Crozz SUV, which was first unveiled at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show. The SUV will enter into production for the global markets in 2020-21.
The new I.D. Crozz is designed with styling elements of SUV and a four-door coupe. It comes with eye catchy exterior, featuring wide bonnet, cleanly contoured wings and roof with a high-gloss black exterior finish. The LED headlamps looks quite exciting and futuristic.
The cabin of the Volkswagen I.D. Crozz has been designed to offer excellent space and highly versatile seating concept. B-pillars were removed in the I.D. Crozz, which allows the large swinging and sliding doors can be opened wide.
Adding to it, the pure electric SUV has CleanAir system that has been developed by Volkswagen. The Volkswagen I.D. Crozz is a sporty, zero-emission vehicle and its electric 4MOTION AWD system is claimed to be impressive under adverse weather conditions.
One electric motor works at the front axle and one at the rear, and torque distribution is controlled via an ‘electric propshaft’. The Volkswagen I.D. Crozz’s electric motor offers 301bhp and offers a top speed of 180kmph. It is claimed to offer an electric range of up to 500kms on one battery charge. Using a fast charger, the high performance battery can be charged to 80 percent in 30 minutes.
