Volkswagen India has silently launched the much-hyped Cross Polo in the Indian car market for Rs. 7.75 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The car will be available with a 1.2L TDI engine and a 5-speed manual gearbox.
Commenting on the launch of the New Cross Polo, Mr. Arvind Saxena, Managing Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Volkswagen Group Sales India Pvt. Ltd. said “The Polo is an important carline in the Indian portfolio and with ongoing updates we keep it relevant and exciting for our customers. The Cross Polo has been created for those looking at a premium hatchback in a sporty ‘crossover’ style.”
The new Cross Polo comes equipped with its rugged new ‘Cross’ front and rear bumpers, black side cladding and wheel arches, silver painted mirrors and roof rails, 5-spoke alloys, ‘Livon’ titanium black upholstery and class-leading 1.2L TDI engine. Sales of the New Cross Polo will commence from August 23, 2013. The Cross Polo is equipped with a 1.2-litre TDI engine with a maximum power output of 75 PS (55 kW) @ 4200rpm and a maximum torque of 180 Nm @ 2000 rpm with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
