Volkswagen India has recently launched the updated Polo hatchback in the country. The company has already announced that the updated Polo GT range will go on sale in September. Along with the updated Polo GT TSI and TDI, Volkswagen will also launch the Cross Polo facelift in September.
First unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March, the Cross Polo facelift gets changes to both interiors and exteriors. The updated crossover hatchback features new bumpers with silver detailing and extra-cladding within the wheelhouses, the sills and the lower sections of the bumpers. Also visible are the silver exterior mirror housings, updated roof rails and its flared wheel arches have been fitted to new 17-inch alloy wheels.
The interiors of the Cross Polo facelift will get a newly designed steering wheel with controls mounted on it, silver finish on the centre console, new seat upholstery and a new shade for the multi-information display.
Under the hood, the Volkswagen Cross Polo gets the 4-cylinder 1.5-litre diesel engine that churns out a maximum power output of 90PS at 4200rpm and 230Nm at 1,500-2,500rpm. Power is transmitted to front wheels via a five-speed manual transmission gearbox. This engine returns a good ARAI certified fuel economy of 20.14kmpl. The Cross Polo will not be offered in petrol. It has been priced at Rs. 7.90 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi).
