New generation Volkswagen Cross Polo – adventure variant – digitally imagined.

Volkswagen, the German premium carmaker has recently revealed the new generation VW Polo hatchback. Keeping current trend in mind, the company could also launch the soft-road version of the hatchback – Cross Polo – in the near future. The Volkswagen Cross Polo 2018 has been digitally rendered by X-Tomi design, and the rendering is based on the new generation Polo hatchback.

Going by the images, the new Cross Polo looks largely similar to the Polo hatchback; however, it gets rugged elements. The 2018 VW Cross Polo has black honeycomb grille, plastic cladding around the lower body portion, and underbody guard on front bumper and roof rails in silver shade. The German carmaker is yet to confirm the renewal of the Cross Polo for the global market. Like the new Polo, the Volkswagen Cross Polo 2018 will be based on the VW Group’s MQB-A0 platform. Compared to the previous model, the adventure model will be longer, wider and more spacious. The vehicle could share the engine setup from the new Polo. The hatchback will be available with a choice of petrol and diesel engines. The petrol lineup will get a 1.0-litre, MPI unit that produces 65bhp to 115bhp of power, a 1.0L TSI unit producing 95bhp or 115bhp and a 150bhp, 1.5-litre TSI. The diesel version will be powered by a 1.6-litre unit that produces power ranging between 80 to 95bhp. Like the Polo GTI, the Cross Polo 2018 could also get GTI unit that will be powered by a 197bhp, 2.0-litre unit. The Sport version will get 17 or 18-inch alloy wheels. New Volkswagen Polo 2017 India features

Talking about Polo hatchback, the new model gets VW’s evolutionary styling with sharp body creases, chiseled sides and larger stance. The premium hatchback shares design cues from the Golf hatchback. The Sporty R Line variant gets gloss black elements on the roof, bumper, and side and roof spoiler. Range-topping GTI model is equipped with newly styled honeycomb grille with red elements on the face. Inside the cabin, the hatchback has new touchscreen infotainment system, virtual cockpit digital instrument display for Audi TT, etc. The new generation car gets Android Auto, autonomous emergency braking, Apple CarPlay and a host of other smartphone apps.
