Volkswagen, the German luxury carmaker has released a couple of design sketches showing a new concept. Dubbed as ‘CC’ concept, the vehicle will be premiered next week in Geneva.
Earlier, Volkswagen announced its plans of developing a new Passat-based CC and a couple of months back a rumor emerged suggesting that the concept will be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show. Interestingly, Auto Express UK managed to get two official design sketches of the concept which is yet to gain a name.
The concept sketch shows a sleek four-door coupe, indicating next generation CC. The next CC is expected to be launched by 2017. The Coupe features a more dramatic roofline compared to the regular Passat.
According to Volkswagen, the concept has “innovative four-wheel drive system” that receives power from a turbocharged gasoline engine that works together with two electric motors. It is expected that the new setup will showcase an evolution of the Passat GTE which combines a 1.4 TSI engine with a single electric motor. The combined power output is 218bhp, which is sent to wheels through a six-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
