November 24, 2016 – Volkswagen India has recently launched the VW Polo AllStar edition in the country. The company has now added anti-lock braking system (ABS) as standard across the Polo variants. Earlier, the ABS was available only on the mid-level and top-end variants of the 2016 Volkswagen Polo – Comfortline and Highline. Now, the base Trendline trim is also available with ABS as standard safety feature. After Toyota, Volkswagen is the only mass market carmaker that offered ABS and dual airbags as standard features on thier entir product lineup.
The new 2016 Volkswagen Polo is one of the most-equipped and good-looking cars in its segment. For 2016, the new Polo has received a few cosmetic updates and additional safety features thus making it more comfortable and safer than before. Though, no mechanical changes have been made to the car. The top-end Polo GT TSI and GT TDI, additionally, get cruise control, electrically foldable ORVMs with turn indicators and cooled glove box. The 2016 Volkswagen Polo is available with four engines options – a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder petrol, a 1.2-litre, four-cylinder GT TSI petrol, 1.5-litre TDI diesel and a 1.5-litre GT TDI diesel. All powertrains are high on performance and fuel efficiency. The interior of the vehicle is well-designed, and offers plenty of space for stretching legs and shoulders. 2016 Volkswagen Polo Exterior:
The 2016 Volkswagen Polo looks quite sporty with features like no-nonsense grille with a chrome line, large airdam, prominent body creases, flat wide bonnet, electrically foldable ORVMs with turn indicators and body coloured outside door handles. The rear of the vehicle looks plain with squarish tail-lamp. The vehicle comes with an integrated spoiler and 15 inch ‘Estrada’ alloy wheels that add more to its sporty appeal.
2016 Volkswagen Polo Interior:
The interior of the new Polo is of high quality for which the German carmaker is known for. It has dual tone interior theme, and centre console gets silver finish. The console houses a large screen for display and several buttons. There is a cooled glove compartment on the co-driver side, and lots of storage room. The instrument cluster is wide and has proper visibility. The car comes equipped with a three spoke steering wheel with mounted controls, USB and Aux-in connectivity, an SD card input, ambient lights, etc. The seats are comfortable, and offer plenty of legroom for front passengers. Though, the rear seat is little tight as it lacks proper thigh support.

The 2016 Volkswagen Polo continues to be available with the old engine lineup – a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder petrol, a 1.2-litre, four-cylinder GT TSI petrol, a 1.5-litre TDI diesel and a 1.5-litre GT TDI diesel. The 1.2-litre MPI petrol mill produces a maximum power of 74bhp and 110Nm of torque, while the 1.2-litre GT TSI offers 103.6bhp and 175Nm. On the other hand, the 1.5-litre TDI and 1.5-litre GT TDI diesel mills generate 88.8bhp with 230Nm, and 103.6bhp with 250Nm respectively. Transmission options on offer are a 5-speed manual (standard) and a 7-speed DSG automatic (only on the GT TSI).
