Upcoming 3 New SUVs

Maruti Suzuki will launch a 7-seater version of the next-gen Suzuki Vitara and a mini SUV in India.

India’s largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki is working on a range of new cars including a micro SUV, new Baleno facelift and a premium sedan. In order to remain stable, the Indo-Japanese brand is also working on a couple of SUVs. The company’s only SUV – Vitara Brezza is currently the best-selling model in its category. Maruti Suzuki will introduce at least 3 new SUVs in India in the next 2 years –

New Maruti ZEN / Future S

Maruti Suzuki had showcased the mini SUV concept – Future S at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo. The company has confirmed that the production-ready model will arrive in India in 2019. A possible launch around Diwali can’t be ignored. If media reports are to be believed, Maruti could re-introduce the iconic “ZEN” nameplate with this micro SUV. This model will rival the likes of Mahindra KUV100 NXT and the upcoming Tata Hornbill. It is expected to be powered by a 1.2-litre K-Series petrol engine that produces 82bhp of power and 115Nm of torque. Both manual and AMT options will be on offer.

– Maruti Vitara 7-seater SUV

Maruti Suzuki is aiming to enter into the premium SUV segment, which is gaining huge momentum in the highly competitive environment. Media reports claim that Maruti will introduce the next-gen Vitara SUV with 7-seat options at the 2020 Delhi Auto Expo. This model will be based on the Suzuki’s C platform that also underpins the global Vitara and Vitara Brezza. The SUV could be powered by a Fiat-sourced 2.0-litre MJD diesel engine that also powers the Harrier & Compass. The company could also opt for the 1.6-litre MJD diesel engine.

– Maruti Vitara Brezza Facelift

The most popular sub-4 meter SUV – Vitara Brezza will receive a mid-life facelift in late 2019 or early 2020. The SUV won’t receive many design or interior changes, though Maruti could add more features. Majority of the changes will be made under the hood. The company will launch the petrol-powered Brezza, which is likely to get a 1.5-litre petrol engine. This engine is capable of producing 104bhp and 138Nm of torque. The current 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engine will be phased out from India in 2020. Maruti has already started testing the in-house developed 1.5-litre diesel engine that will also power the Ertiga, S-Cross and Ciaz.
