We reported earlier that Maruti Suzuki India has teased the Ciaz sedan in a unique promotional strategy. The twitter was bombarded with #CoolCatsinTown, and the teaser shows a cool cat driving Ciaz in Delhi. Now, the company has released a new teased video ahead of its launch in September. However, the video doesn’t reveal anything about the saloon. This could be the part of campaign which present the Ciaz sedan as a cool car, as it is the most spacious car in its league.
Unveiled at the 2014 Delhi Motor Show as concept, the production spec Suzuki Ciaz has been spotted several times during its test rounds on Indian roads. Aka Alivio sedan which was unveiled as pre-production concept at 2014 Beijing Motor Show, the Ciaz presents an aggressive look. It is likely to replace the aging SX4 sedan; however, few media reports suggest that the vehicle will be positioned above the SX4.
The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz is likely to be offered in both petrol and diesel fuel options. The petrol version will get the 1.4-litre motor that also powers the Ertiga MPV while the diesel model will get the tried & trusted 1.3-litre multi-jet motor. Both engines will develop a top power output of 90PS. These engines will be paired to manual transmission gearbox while the petrol model will also get an automatic variant. The company has already started the production of the Ciaz sedan at its Manesar manufacturing unit. Bookings for the sedan is expected to commence soon.
