Piaggio India has rolled out the Vespa Elegante special edition at Rs 95,077(ex-showroom, Pune). Bookings for this special edition have already been commenced across all Vespa/ Aprilia outlets across the country. One can also pre-book the scooter at Motoplex dealership network. The Vespa Elegante edition is being offered in SXL and VXL 150cc with some additional features.
Commenting on the launch, Piaggio Vehicles India – CEO and Managing Director, Stefano Pelle said, “The special edition Vespa Elegante symbolises Piaggio’s ownership of the premium scooter segment that the group has successfully created in the Indian market. With its classy yet modern designs, Vespa Elegante will be a proud possession of the Vespa enthusiast.”
Design and styling of the new Vespa Elegante special edition is inspired by the beaches of Italy. The company says that the scooter represents the Italian craftsmanship on the offerings. This new edition features an exclusive ‘Elegante’ badge, leather finished seats and tinted fly screen. The scooter runs on 12-inch alloy wheels fitted with tubeless tyres.
Colour choices include Pearl White and Beige Unico. Piaggio is also offering a range of accessories on the Vespa Elegante special edition including a front bumper guard, all round chrome guard kit and a coloured helmet.
At the heart of the Vespa Elegante edition is the same 150 cc single-cylinder engine matched to an automatic gearbox. This motor makes a top speed of 11.4bhp at 7000rpm, while producing a peak torque of 11.5Nm at 5500rpm.
Piaggio had introduced the Vespa 946 Emporio Armani and Vespa 70th Anniversary Editions in October last year. Launched a whopping price of Rs 12.04 lakh, the Vespa 946 Emporio Armani commemorated the 40th anniversary of Georgio Armani and 130th anniversary of the Piaggio Group. On the other hand, the Vespa marked the 70th birthday of the Vespa scooter.
