The Maruti Alto 800 now updated with new safety standards

Maruti Suzuki has recently introduced the upgraded Alto K10 with additional safety features in the country. The updated Alto K10 is now available at all Maruti Arena outlets at Rs 3.48 lakh. It seems like Maruti Suzuki has silently upgraded the Alto 800 with new features that makes it compliant with new safety standards. According to the new safety norms, all the cars on sale should be fitted with ABS with EBD, driver side airbag, speed alert, rear parking sensors and seatbelt reminder as standard.

A new video of the upgraded Alto 800 has been posted by Gyani Enough Youtube channel. The model appears in the video is the top-end VXi trim. The video reveals that the Alto 800 has also received visual changes. It features a new blacked-out grille with Suzuki badge at the centre in chrome. The headlamp unit merges well with the grille. The air-dam design has also been updated and it now comes with hexagonal design.

The updated Maruti Alto 800 gets new front bumper with different fog lamp housing.  The side profile remains the same and it features the same black steel wheels. Alto 800 interior

The upgraded Maruti Alto 800 comes with the dual-tone interior scheme, but it gets revised central console design. The instrument console design has also been upgraded with new big dial in the middle. The hatchback gets basic music system with FM, Bluetooth, USB and AUX-in support. This variant gets dual front airbags. Powering the Alto 800 is a 796cc, 3-cylinder petrol engine that produces 48bhp of power and 69Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the front wheels via a 4-speed gearbox. The company is yet to make a formal announcement on the launch of the upgraded Alto 800, though the model has been spotted at the dealership.
