The homegrown automaker, Force Motors is all set to launch the updated Gurkha off-roader in the country this September. The company recently introduced the facelifted model, but put the production of the Gurkha on hold to give updates based on users’ suggestion. Now, the production of the model has been resumed and the exports of the SUV have already begun.
Force Gurkha is known for its off-roading capability. This time, the company has worked upon the on-road capability, ride quality and NVH levels of the SUV. The updated Gurkha is now tuned to offer better performance on both on-road and off-road capabilities. It is equipped with improved interiors which now features new seats with better thigh-support, air conditioning and other comfort and convenience features.
The updated Gurkha will get the BSIII compliant TD 2650 turbocharged motor that is capable of producing 82PS at 3200rpm and a peak torque of 230Nm at 2,000rpm. Both front and rear axles get a differential lock. The company is also planning to launch a more powerful BS-IV compliant 2.2-litre FMTECH motor that is capable of producing a top power output of 120PS and 320Nm of torque.
The updated Force Gurkha will be available at all Force Motors’ dealerships across the country. The vehicle will get both soft-top and hard-top variants will be offered. The 2WD variant is likely to be priced in the range of Rs. 6.5 lakh while the 4WD variant is expected to be tagged at Rs. 8.5 lakh.
