Besides serving common needs, these performance-oriented motorcycles are stylish as well as affordable. Here we bring you the list of upcoming new sports bikes in the Indian two-wheeler market which will cost you less than Rs. 2 lakh.
First unveiled at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo, the Xtreme 200S will mark the world’s largest two-wheeler maker entry into the naked sportsbike segment. This 200cc motorcycle is basically the more powerful version of the existing Xtreme.
The bike is claimed to have a ‘Cheetah’-inspired design. Powering the Hero Xtreme 200S is an all-new 200cc, 4-stroke, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that is capable of producing 18.5bhp of power at 8,500rpm along with 17.2Nm of torque at 6,000rpm. This powertrain is paired to a 5-speed gearbox driving the power to rear wheels. The bike also features mono suspension setup at the rear. It will also be Hero’s first bike to get an ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System).

TVS Motor Company is working on an all-new fully-faired motorcycle based on the Akula 310 concept, which was showcased at the Auto Expo 2016. This is undoubtedly one of the most awaited upcoming new sports bikes in India. The company aims to capitalize on the popular Apache brand and the upcoming bike is likely to be named Apache RTR 300. This motorcycle is built on BMW G310 R platform that has been jointly developed by TVS and BMW Motorrad. The bike is expected to get inverted telescopic for upfront and monoshock suspension at the rear. Along with standard disc brakes, the fully-faired bike will get a dual-channel ABS. It comes with an aggressive and sporty design, featuring single projector headlight, side mounted exhaust system, full fairing and alloy wheels.
The TVS Apache RTR 300 will be powered by the same 313cc, 4-stroke, single-cylinder water-cooled engine that also powers the BMW G310R. Paired to a 6-speed gearbox, this powertrain is capable of producing 33.4bhp of power at 9,500rpm and 28Nm of torque at 7,500rpm.
