3. Hero HX250R
Hero MotoCorp showcased the near production version of its quarter-litre sportbike- the Hero HX250R at the Auto Expo 2016 in February. As a reminder, the HX250R was first unveiled at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo. It is undoubtedly one of the most awaited upcoming sports bikes in India. The faired sportsbike will be manufactured at the company’s Neemrana plant in Rajasthan. If reports are to be believed, the quarter-litre motorcycle will be the first Hero bike to feature dual-riding modes- ‘City’ and ‘Sports’. It is based on an all-new lightweight Geodesic Tubular platform. The HX250R gets a twin multi-reflector halogen headlamp, LED tail and stop lamp and LED light guide. Other styling elements including uniquely styled fuel tank, under seat exhaust system and sporty, aggressive fairing.
The Hero HX250R is powered by an all-new 249cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine with Dual Mode Fuel Injection (DMFi) system with two ECU maps for dual riding modes. Coupled to a 6-speed gearbox, this engine produces 31bhp of power and 26Nm of peak torque. The bike is claimed to achieve 0-100 kmph in just 9 seconds and 0-60 kmph in 2.7 seconds.
