Maruti Suzuki

Maruti Suzuki to Launch 11 New Cars in India Within Next 2 Years

3. Maruti Wagon R MPV

Maruti Wagon R 7 Seater MPV

With the number of queries we have received on our portal about the Wagon R 7-seater, it’s easy to claim that this is one of the most-awaited upcoming new Maruti cars in India.

The seven-seater version of the hatchback will stand tall with a high ground clearance and have lots of comfort and safety to offer. Besides this, the affordable pricing (we believe) will work as cherry on the cake. In India, the Maruti Wagon R 7-seater MPV will be slotted between the Eeco and the Ertiga MPV, and take on the Datsun Go+. Engine options for the Wagon R 7-seater MPV could be a 0.8-litre DDiS diesel unit, and a 1.2-litre K-Series or the Alto’s 1.0-litre K10 petrol motor.

Expected Launch 2017
Estimated Price Range Rs 4.5 lakh – Rs 6.0 lakh
Engines 1.0-litre K-Series Petrol & 1.3-litre Diesel

4. New Maruti Alto 800

2017 Maruti Alto

In order to retains its top position in the entry-level segment, Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) is planning to introduce the new-generation model of its top-selling hatchback – Alto 800. Built on an all-new lightweight platform, the 2017 Maruti Alto will have an entirely different exterior and interior design. This new platform will not only make it lighter and faster than the current model, but enhance its fuel efficiency as well.

Reports suggest that the new Alto might share its engine with the Suzuki Alto Lapin/Kei. Though, the India-spec model might continue to feature the existing 0.8-litre petrol powertrain. Maruti might also introduce a more powerful 1000cc mill on the hatchback. For transmitting power, there could be a 5-speed manual and an AMT gearbox. Exterior design of the new Alto will be more crossover-ish. It could derive some of its design cues from the Suzuki Alto Lapin.

Expected Launch Late 2017 or Early 2018
Estimated Price Range Rs 3 lakh – Rs 4 lakh
Engine 0.8-litre Petrol
