Upcoming New Cars Between 20 Lakh and 30 lakh
Here is a list of upcoming new cars in India that will be priced between Rs 20 lakh and Rs 30 lakh.
Jeep Grand Compass
The first model in our list of upcoming new cars under Rs 30 lakh is the Jeep Grand Compass 7-seater SUV. It is based on the modified version of the Small-Wide platform that also underpins the current Compass SUV. The new model will be positioned against the likes of the Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour, Honda CR-V, Volkswage Tiguan and others. It will be offered with 2 new engines – a 1.3-litre turbocharged petrol engine and a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine.

Citreon C5 Aircross
Groupe PSA will officially launch its first product – the Citroen C5 Aircross in India in the first half of 2021. The company will launch the new model in a single top-end variant with diesel-automatic gearbox unit. The 5-seater SUV will be brought here via CKD (Completely Knocked Down) route. It will be powered by a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine that is good for 180bhp. Transmission duties will be done by an 8-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox. In terms of proportions, the new C5 Aircross is 4,500mm in length, 1,840mm in width and 1,670mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,730mm. It has a ground clearance of 230mm. In India, the SUV will take on the likes of the Hyundai Tucson and Honda CR-V.

Kia Sorento
Korean automaker, Kia is considering the new-gen Sorento SUV for the Indian market. The SUV will rival the likes of the Toyota Fortuner, Honda CR-V, VW Taigun, Ford Endeavour and the Mahindra Alturas G4. It is based on the new generation N3 platform, which will also underpin the next-gen Kia Carnival. The India-spec Kia Sorento is likely to receive a 2.2-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine, which also powers the Carnival. This engine is capable of producing 198bhp of power and 440Nm of torque. Instead of the 8-speed torque convertor, the Sorento gets an 8-speed wet-plate DCT.

MG G10 MPV
MG Motors had showcased the G10 9-seater MPV at the 2020 Auto Expo. It is a full-sized MPV, which will rival the Kia Carnival MPV. It is basically the re-badged Maxus G10 MPV, which is on sale in the Chinese market. In terms of proportions, the G10 is 5,618mm long, 1,980mm wide and 1,928m tall, and has a wheelbase of 3,210mm. it is 53mm longer and 173mm taller than the Kia Carnival. In fact, the wheelbase is 150mm longer than the Carnival. Powering the MPV is a 2.2-litre diesel engine producing 218bhp and 480Nm of torque. Both manual and automatic versions will be on offer.

Hyundai Custo
Korean automaker, Hyundai is developing an all-new premium MPV for the global markets. Likely to be called the Hyundai Custo, the upcoming new MPV will be based on the next-gen Kia Carnival platform. The new model will directly rival the likes of the Kia Carnival and the upcoming MG G10 MPV. Powering the Hyundai Custo MPV will be a 2.0L, 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine paired to an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The gasoline motor produces a peak power of 240bhp against 353Nm of torque. The India-spec model is likely to receive the 2.2-litre turbocharged diesel engine producing 197bhp of power.
