The quarter-litre sports bike segment is undoubtedly one of the fastest growing segments in the Indian two-wheeler markets. Bikes like KTM Duke 200, TVS Apache RTR 200, Yamaha R3, Bajaj Pulsar RS200 and others have been doing good business for their respective automakers. In order to secure some share in quarter-litre bike segment, 2 wheeler makers are planning to launch their affordable 200cc – 300cc motorcycles in India. Here we listed all the upcoming new 200cc and 300cc bikes in India in 2016, 2017.
Unveiled at the 2016 Auto Expo, the Xtreme 200S will be the Hero’s global premium bike. The production of this 200cc bike have already commenced at the company’s Jaipur based facility. The naked streetfighter is the powerful version of the Xtreme 150, but it comes with new design and better ergonomics. It features a ‘Cheetah’ inspired design that will appeal young enthusiasts. Powering the Xtreme 200S is a 200cc, 4-stroke, single-cylinder air-cooled engine that is capable of producing 18.5bhp of power and 17.2Nm of torque. This engine will be paired to either a 6-speed or 5-speed gearbox.
The suspension mechanism of the bike comprises of telescopic forks upfront and monoshock suspension setup for shock absorption at the rear axle. It will get front and rear disc brakes along with single-channel ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) for effective braking. Based on the strong diamond type chassis, the new Hero Xtreme 200S looks aggressive and sporty. Air vents on front cowl, belly-pan and tank-shroud further enhances the overall performance and its overall appeal. Other design elements include mono halogen headlamp with twin LED pilot lights, LED taillamps analog digital instrument console and dual-tone seat.
