The upcoming new Hyundai Santro is likely to be unveiled on October 9, 2018

Korean automaker, Hyundai is gearing up for the launch of all-new entry-level hatchback – codenamed AH2 – in India. The tall-boy hatchback will have Santro nameplate along with a suffix. According to Cartoq, the small car will officially unveil on 9th of October 2018, followed by the launch on 26th Oct. It will be the brand’s new entry-level model, which means EON will be phased out in near future. The new model will take on the likes of the Tata Tiago and Maruti Suzuki Celerio.

The report further claims that the upcoming Hyundai Santro will come in five variants – Era, Magna, Sportz, Sportz (O) and Asta. The base Era model is likely to be priced around Rs 3.5 lakhs, ex-showroom, Delhi. ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) with EBD (Electronic BrakeForce Distribution) will come as standard, while dual front airbags will be offered from the Magna trim. This model also gets steering mounted audio controls.

The new Hyundai Santro is claimed to have several high-end comfort and convenience features. It will come equipped with segment first rear air-conditioning vents and a five-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Previous media reports claim that the Santro will have a touchscreen display of 7-inch. Under the hood is a new, 1.1-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard. It will be the brand’s first model to get affordable AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) gearbox. This AMT unit will also be offered on the next-gen Grand i10 and the Xcent. Hyundai will officially start taking pre-bookings for the new Santro from October 10, 2018.
